NaBloPoMo 2014 is Coming!!!

ATTN: ALL Bloggers & Writers:
November is National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo).

If you have ever struggled with material to write about or had writer’s block, this might be of some help to you. BlogHer.com hosts writing prompts each month. I was checking out the site today and found that the NaBloPoMo 2014 prompts list has been released.

Daily Writing Prompts and Upcoming NaBloPoMo — Writer’s Block Again?

I’ve been feeling somewhat displeased with myself for not writing very often. I don’t always have or come up with material to write about; Sometimes I try to do it on the spot.

It’s been some time since I’ve written using a writing prompt and NaBloPoMo is next month. I will probably start doing those again. As a homeschooling mom, I sometimes give my kids Daily Prompts as writing assignments. I was reading over one of the prompts from last week and got the idea to use them for myself as well. They would give me even more practice in writing.

One of my biggest personal writing issues, because I’m a perfectionist, is that I want to improve on punctuation and sentence structure. Do I need a comma here? What can I do so this is like this? That doesn’t seem right. My brain is in a fog or something.

I always did well in English and Creative Writing while I was going to school, but that was two decades ago and it has slipped over the years. Most of what I’ve written since high school are poems or letters. I’ve tried journaling to see if that helps, but again it’s an issue of ‘on the spot’ writing.
Is this a form or writer’s block?

Thank You!

I logged in today to check out some things and to make a new post and was greeted with a trophy icon.

Today is my 2nd Anniversary on WP.

During that course of time, my blog has improved somewhat. I don’t blog as often as I would like because I don’t always have the time or I haven’t come up with any content to add.
I have more readers than I thought I would have. For that I want to say Thank You! You inspire me. And you are the reason why I want to improve my writing.

A Great College Football Rivalry Holds Fond Memories

Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 3:30 pm eastern time the Michigan State Spartans host the Michigan Wolverines. The game can be viewed on ABC and ESPN3.

I have been a fan of the University of Michigan for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a home where sports was on television often. I grew up to like many of the teams that my dad follows and some that he can’t stand.

I will be enjoying the game tomorrow, but with a heavy heart.
My grandfather, my dad’s dad and a huge Michigan State fan, passed away almost five years ago. I remember when I was a teenager, sometimes my dad would go visit him on game day. Other times the entire family would visit and watch the game together. We always formed a friendly rivalry on game day. It seems that every member of my dad’s side of the family supported the Wolverines except grandpa. We used to tease each other throughout the game, especially during time-outs, commercial breaks, or at half-time.

I will admit, even though U of M and MSU are rivals I do support MSU, but only when they’re not playing U of M. I support most Michigan teams, after all that’s where I grew up. And I will always root for the Wolverines first.

Every season, when this rivalry comes around, I always think of my grandfather. It’s a reminder of so many other family get-togethers. And I miss those times together.

I love and miss you SAM, but I have to say it: Let’s Go BLUE!!!

Beautiful Sky

I absolutely LOVE stunning views of the sun behind clouds and it’s rays shining through. So when I saw this last night I had to hurry and take the shot before the clouds moved and/or the sun set.
The shot was taken about 6:12 pm eastern time.

Fallen But Slowly Getting Back Up

It has been several months since I have worked out and it irritates me. When school started my personal schedule changed. Why? Because I homeschool my kids.

I have yet to figure out how to get my workouts in. It might be best to include it in our school day; Phys. Ed for them and a good workout for me. They’re young enough to engage in that. I’ve just got to get the scheduling figured out.

On another note, I have my computer back and I’ve been trying to get more done with my other blog. So I’ve been busy working to get things done for that too. Sometimes it seems like there isn’t enough time in a day to accomplish much of anything. sigh
