NaBloPoMo 2014 — Day 1

Today is a free-writing day if you are following blogher’s NaBloPoMo 2014.

NaBloPoMo is an interesting acronym. And I have to admit, just thinking about it makes me laugh. Even though I know what it is, it comes out wrong in my mind.

Nah-Bloe-Poe-Moe is what I believe to be the correct pronunciation. However, when I quickly read over it, my mind thinks Nah-Bloe-Puh-Blah-No and I have no idea why. Unless it’s because I enjoy cooking and poblano peppers are something that have been used several times on cooking shows that I’ve watched. Isn’t it strange how our minds work sometimes?

Happy NaBloPoMo 2014!

Have a Fun & Safe Hollow Weenie! Hallow-what?

We don’t celebrate Halloween in our family. We used to when I was younger but things changed over the years.

Does it upset me? No because even though I was young I understood, to a degree, why we didn’t anymore.

Does it upset my kids? No because they’ve never had the experience of dressing up and going trick or treating. Besides, just because we don’t do what everyone else does doesn’t mean we don’t have candy or other goodies. (apple cider, donuts, pumpkin spice cappuccino… YUM!)

I hope you and yours had/have a fun and safe Halloweenie!
