Playing with New Content

Going through Blogging 101, I’ve been learning about several things.

Reader’s who have been around awhile have probably noticed that I changed the theme of my blog.

There are other changes that you may not have realized.
The new buttons at the top right. If you have played around with them, kudos to you!
If not, this post is to help make you aware of them, as well as their contents.

I have been playing around a bit with widgets and pages today and the last week or so.
The first button (dark salmon), is where links to my pages are located. (See below)
There is a new page (My Poetry), and the My Fitness Story page has been updated.

The 2nd button (light salmon), is where you’ll find links to my recent posts and links for some of the blogs I follow. (See below)

The final button (light blue), is exactly what it appears to be; a search function.

[Blogging 101] Say Your Name

Today’s assignment: edit your title and tagline.
“If you’re already thrilled with your title or you want to do more, feel free to publish a post, too! Let readers know what inspired your title and tagline…”

I’m very happy with my title and tagline.

Potpourri Adventures fit because life is a mixed bag of adventure and opportunity.

My tagline: A place to be; uniquely me  — What more can I say? I write my thoughts and feelings. I write about life experiences. I write poems and stories. It’s all genuine. It’s all me.

[Blogging 101] Introduce Yourself

Today’s assignment: write and publish a “who I am and why I’m here” post.

Hey there! I’m xCraftyChickx bka Dawn.

I started my blog 2 years ago because I enjoy writing. I started blogging to write more, to improve my writing, and to have an outlet other than a journal, a notebook, or diary. I also want to uplift, inspire, and encourage others in the process.

My blog is a personal blog not solely based on one subject. I want to be able to write about whatever strikes my fancy. The only thing I probably won’t include is politics as it usually provokes a lot of emotion, leading to heated discussions, which end up getting out of hand.

I’m usually a fairly private person; blogging is starting to change that. I have endured many tough times in my life (who hasn’t, right?). I think writing about them could help bring healing, not to mention it might help others that have been through similar experiences.

I try to keep my blog “clean”, meaning limiting intense or strong language. There may be times I might use strong language however. (A warning would be included).

So, let me welcome you to Potpourri Adventures! I hope you enjoy your stay.
