Forgive & Love

“Out of suffering come the strongest souls. God’s wounded often make his best soldiers.”

There may be times in our lives when we face undesirable circumstances, tragic events, or maybe a bully or two.
Our first reaction is usually to get angry, especially if it involves getting hurt by other people. We may be angry for a long time, but we can’t let that anger turn into bitterness or worse, hatred.

Below is a link to an amazing story about a woman who faced horrendous things in her life. Even though she faced life threatening circumstances and was mistreated by those around her, she still found a way to love people anyway.
Talk about grace and a great example of how we all should live.

Always Forgive and choose to Walk in Love

God’s Wounded

”Elfriede “Marie” Jakob and I crossed paths over three years ago, when I spent a few weeks in Berlin…”

Smoking or Non-Smoking?

This world has gone crazy… and we haven’t seen INSANE yet.

What do you mean? What are you saying?

Strange Weather. Natural Disaster. Corruption. Lies. Deception.
Crooked Government. Hatred. Persecution. Murder.
These things  are happening NOW. And they are going to get worse.

I can say this without a doubt in my mind: we are in the Biblical End Times.
“As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age? Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
All these are the beginning of birth pains.
Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:3-14

Now I’m not saying the world will end tomorrow, next week, or even next year. What I am saying is the day of Salvation and true repentance is here.
“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.” Matthew 24:36

Do you know where you will spend eternity?
Have you accepted Christ as your Savior? Or have you ignored Him calling out to you?
It is ultimately your choice.
If you don’t make a choice, you have still made one…

God loves YOU. He doesn’t want anyone to perish.
Hell was not created for people, but for Satan and his demons. But the truth is, those who reject salvation will perish.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.”  Matthew 7:21-23

God sent His Son Jesus into the world to to bring salvation. It is a gift for all.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.”  John 3:16-17

Jesus is our ONLY hope of going to Heaven, there is no other way.
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

If you would like heaven to be your eternal home, and would like to accept Christ as your Savior, it’s as simple as saying this prayer**:

Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.
I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.
You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.
Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.
Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.
Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.

World’s First Valentine

Valentine’s Day… a day to show those you love how much you love them. But in all honesty I think every day should be Valentine’s Day.

No I don’t mean get me cards and candy. Don’t make me breakfast in bed or a gourmet dinner, although that would be nice. I mean the part about showing those you care about how much you love them.

So when did Valentine’s Day first begin?

As an official holiday? I’m not certain. But I do know that the very FIRST Valentine’s Day happened a very long time ago.

God sent the first valentine’s gift. And it’s a gift, not just for Jewish, or Christians, but for every person. It’s a gift for you and for me. And it’s available to you every day, not just on a holiday.

The World’s First Valentine

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, and whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

It doesn’t matter what you’ve said or what you’ve done, God loves you. Don’t wait until your life is ‘perfect’; it won’t happen. God wants you to come to Him as you are.

Time is short and Jesus is coming again soon.
Are you ready?

Expecting Great Things in 2015

~January 2, 2015~

Here it is, day two of a brand new year and I’m already feeling bummed out.

The past two days have been pretty rough. There’s been arguing and attitudes, raised voices and hurt feelings. God knows I didn’t want the year to start like this. So now what?

It’s time to put FAITH in action!

Things aren’t always what they appear to be. And things don’t stay the same for long. Don’t dwell on negative things or negative emotions.

Keep believing, keep your focus. God is always faithful.
The author and finisher our faith isn’t through with us yet.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) says, “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope.” In some versions it says, “I know the plans that I have for you…”  God has a plan for our lives. He wants to give and do good things for us.

Romans 8:28 (NKJV) says, “And we know that ALL things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
We might be going through a rough time, but God can use those times to help us grow. Sometimes it’s for a learning experience or test of faith.

Stand firm!

“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” (Isaiah 40:8)

Don’t rely on your own strength. Whatever we are facing, with God, we will make it through.

2015 is going to be an amazing year! Believe it!

In His Footsteps

There is a lot of persecution in the world today, especially towards Christians. As one myself, I find it extremely heartbreaking. We are judged, criticized, mocked… and in some parts of the world tortured and/or murdered.

People treat us like we’re wretched human beings.

Yes, there are some “christians” that have a holier than thou attitude. In my opinion, they give true Christians a bad name.

As Christians, we are called to walk in the footsteps of Jesus. He is our example. We will never be perfect, as He was, but we should strive to live our lives to be like Him.

I think Carol S. Wimmer expressed it best in her poem, “When I Say I am a Christian”:

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not shouting, “I’ve been saved!”
I’m whispering, “I get lost sometimes
That’s why I chose this way”

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I don’t speak with human pride
I’m confessing that I stumble –
needing God to be my guide

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not trying to be strong
I’m professing that I’m weak
and pray for strength to carry on

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not bragging of success
I’m admitting that I’ve failed
and cannot ever pay the debt

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I don’t think I know it all
I submit to my confusion
asking humbly to be taught

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not claiming to be perfect
My flaws are far too visible
but God believes I’m worth it

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartache
which is why I seek God’s name

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I do not wish to judge
I have no authority
I only know I’m loved

Daily Prompt: To Boldly Go…

An impending new year gives rise to reflection and goal setting. What will your goals for 2014 be? It’s never to early to start thinking about self improvement!

I’m not the type that makes New Year’s Resolutions and I haven’t thought about setting goals in several years. So this is going to take some thought.

One goal I’ve been working towards, but haven’t been as diligent as I should be, is losing weight. It’s not an easy thing to do. I’m not one of those people that need to lose only a few pounds. So it’s going to take some work.
And don’t feed me this garbage about some magic pill, weight loss beverage, or some other “miracle weight loss” thing. It’s ALL bunk!
Truth of the matter is… all you’ve got to do is get off your lazy bum & MOVE!  (I could write a whole other blog topic on this alone).

There are a couple of other things I’d like to be better about doing; forming better habits. I want to be better about spending time reading God’s Word and praying. I want to get closer to the Lord.
I want to be a better wife for my Beloved husband and a better mom to our two blessings.
And I need to learn to better manage my time.
